The Ashburton Arms is perfectly located to explore South Devon and beyond. Situated in the heart of the South Hams with locations such as Dartmouth, Salcombe and Dartmoor all in easy reach.

We have built an excellent reputation for the quality of service, as well as our homemade food, real ales, and fine wines served in the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant or bar area.

Full menu available lunchtime and evening seven days a week including Sunday Roast. The Ashburton Arms now offers 3 well appointed and very comfortable en suite rooms, either on a bed and breakfast or dinner, bed and breakfast basis.

History

The Ashburton Arms was built as a farmhouse circa 1800 and became a public house around 1810. More recently, Ray has transformed this public house into one of the most popular pub restaurants in the area.

Homemade food is served using the freshest local ingredients and is accompanied by an excellent choice of fine wines and quality real ales.
Quality Kingsbridge Bed & Breakfast is a now available with three very comfortable en-suite rooms. Ideally located our bed & breakfast accommodation is ideal for couples and families as well as those visiting us on business or pleasure.

The Ashburton Arms offers pet friendly accommodation with many stunning dog walks available on our doorstep. Also ideally located for Bird watching.

Famous for more than two decades for our signature dish “Steak on the Rocks” locals and visitors alike travel to The Ashburton Arms near Kingsbridge to enjoy this and other culinary delights. A wide selection of homemade dishes including:

We are a small, privately owned and run village inn and you are assured of a warm welcome and a fine breakfast along with a wide selection of other home made dishes for lunch or dinner.

Things to do in the area

The Ashburton Arms is situated in a beautiful part of the country. Just outside Kingsbridge and perfectly located to enjoy all that South Devon has to offer. The 20 minute drive along the coastal road to the historic Naval town of Dartmouth incorporates some of the most stunning and beautiful views in the South West.

A ten minute drive or a delightful twenty minute cruise from Kingsbridge will bring you to the famous town of Salcombe where you can stroll amongst the many boutiques and cafes or a few hours in the National Trust Property of Overbecks.

Alternatively spend the afternoon on any one of the sandy coves and beaches. A seven mile walk from Salcombe across the coastal path and its breathtaking views will bring you to the old fishing village of Hope Cove.

Further down the coast and only 15 minutes drive from The Ashburton Arms is the Surfers Paradise of Bantham Beach and Burgh Island, home to the 1930’s Art Deco Hotel famed by Agatha Christie’s Novels.

Moving north away from the coast Dartmoor National Park with all its mystery is waiting to be explored is only 35 minutes away. All this and more right on your door step!
