A Christmas welcome from Sailmaker Contemporary Art Studios

Established local artists, Ian Carr and Jon Woolfenden have joined forces to open a new studio on Shadycombe Road opposite Coronation Road in Salcombe.
Formerly known as Sailmaker Studio, the refurbished and extended gallery and workspace will now be home to both artists under the name of Sailmaker Contemporary Art Studios.
Jon Woolfenden who has, until recently, been working and exhibiting at the Hope Cove Gallery on Island Street, is excited about the move. ‘Ian and I have collaborated successfully in the past and this will be a stimulating new phase for both of us. It will give us even greater opportunity to be inspired by each other’s work.’
Whilst the ground floor has yet to be finished, they are keen to show off their achievements so far. ‘Opening our doors over Christmas will enable us to explain to local and visiting art lovers our vision of what will be the downstairs gallery in the fullness of time,’ they say. Both artists will have new paintings and sculpture on display.
Sailmaker Contemporary Art Studios, TQ7 8DZ, will be open daily, 11am to 5pm, from Wednesday 28th December until Saturday 7th January inclusive. Jon and Ian invite you to join them for a glass of wine and be among the first to preview their latest work and this exciting new venture. For more information, email
