The pandemic gave Your Devon Escape owner Brooke Foy-Wright the time to put together the website, working tirelessly with our website developer to perfect something that had been in the back of her mind for a couple of years.

“It was actually a client of ours that gave us the push we needed”. Brooke said, “We have been successfully running Chameleon Services since 2016, providing changeovers, cleaning and laundry services for our client’s properties, long term customers were seeing the pitfalls of letting their property with a large agent and kept telling us we should cut out the middleman and offer the complete package ourselves.

“We now have a number of properties on our books, with three more in the pipeline. We pride ourselves on looking for quality, not quantity, and we will only take on places that have something unique about them, something we can get excited about.”

Stargazy is a four bedroom property in Bigbury that not only is beautiful, less than a minute from the beach, and big enough to squeeze in the whole family, but it also has The Stargazy Arms, a garden bar with its own seating, lighting, BBQ and lounge area. (Brooke and her team make sure it is fully stocked before guests arrive and it has proven a firm favourite).

Your Devon Escape not only provides great service for the guests, but really good value for money for the owners. Rather than the usual 20% plus commission rate, Your Devon Escape only charges 13%.

Unlike other property letting companies, Your Devon Escape doesn’t have restrictions on when owners can use their properties. Brooke added: “We of course want to keep the high season dates free for our guests, but as long as we know in advance and can block the dates from the calendar, we have no restrictions on how many weeks you would like to keep the property for your own use.

“We offer two packages to our clients”, Brooke continued, “We have ‘Booking and Marketing’ where we handle those two things, but owners manage the property and arrange the cleaners etc, or we have ‘Full Management’, where we do everything and owners don’t have to worry about a thing.
