Jackie Gale is an award winning textile artist based in Ermington in the South Hams. She works from her studio gallery which is open to the public.
Jackie's colourful and vibrant work reflects the energy and creativity of her character. Influenced by her passion for naive art, she tells the story with texture and colour. Her ability to capture the essence of a place or theme using layers of fabrics and mixed materials makes her work truly unique. Her love of the South Hams shows in her colourful creative portrayals of local places she particularly loves and enjoys recreating in her own artistic style. Since becoming professional in 2013, Jackie's work has become sought after both nationally and internationally, resulting in many collectors. In 2015 she was awarded 'Best Up And Coming UK Artist' by the Guild Of Fine Artists.
Her work is available as both original pieces and limited edition Giclee prints. She also has a range of gifts created from her art designs available to view and buy at her gallery in Ermington. Some examples of her work are below (in gallery).
Her inspiration comes from a childhood surrounded by creatives within her family as well as her travels around the world. Her love of architecture and wild flora is seen in many pieces where she successfully combines the two in her signature style. Livingin South Devon also gives her an endless supply of beautiful harbours, coves and woodlands to explore and draw ideas from. She does firmly believe, however, that inspiration is all around us and that every place has a story to tell.
Jackie's studio gallery is open to the public and is open from Tuesday to Saturday.
