Torcross Boathouse Seaside Restaurant, Bar, Takeaway and Party Venue in a beautiful location.

Renowned for our Fish and chips but also served lovely salads, burgers, pizzas and children's meals

Visit us to see how beautiful our location and how cool and cosy our restaurant actually is.

We can seat 60 people comfortably with lake side seating outside on the decking which is sunny in the afternoons and all evening.

Torcross, steeped in World War 2 history is set on a three mile beach which was used to practice for the D-Day landings. As a monument to service men that lost their lives here an original Sherman Tank was recovered from the sea off Torcross and preserved in pride of place for all to see, 100 yards from our door.

Every table has the most amazing, panoramic views, not only of the sea steps away in one direction but Slapton Ley (lake) Nature reserve in the other direction. The Boathouse was cleverly designed, elevated to benefit from its unique position, fabulous when enjoying our much renowned fish and chips!

2nd visit

This is the second time we have eaten here, first time cream teas, very good. This time lunch. All freshly made, my wife and I had the fish sharing platter and my brother the cod and chips. All freshly cooked, generous portions, crispy batter and very reasonable price. We will go again

Gluten free

I had a drink in this lovely restaurant whilst awaiting some takeaway items. The food was first class. It was all packed very carefully to ensure the gluten free items were kept separate. We have eaten in the restaurant before....lovely atmosphere and great sea side location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable. Wonderful wood burner for winter. Great! Lovely

This place is lovely. It's right between the beach and a natural lake at glorious Slapton Sands in Devon, and on a sunny day, as it was last Saturday, it is wonderful. The views of the coastline and breathtaking. This restaurant is a kind of smart-casual dockside bar-cum-fish and chip restaurant, with a relaxed, stylish feel. Ship related and marine objects decorate the light airy, modern interior. The floors are sanded and the furniture comfortable. Welcoming, cheerful staff offered us seats by the open windows beach side or outdoor tables facing the lake, we chose the latter. Our Labrador was made very welcome. The menu offers lots of fun fishy fresh ideas including an interesting series of small portion lite-bite stuff and, much appreciated by my wife, a quality choice of gluten free dishes. Most of us chose versions of fish and chips - see photos - which were really nice, with the batter fresh and crispy and the fish delicious. Lovely place.

Friendly

friendly beachside cafe at Slapton, offering a convivial, friendly, varied and very good value selection of food, drink and good times. So good that when the weather has been right we have even anchored offshore and come in by tender. I see that other contributors have praised this place to the rafters. The management have hit the nail squarely in the head. It's just right. Take a look at the web site and you get a fair feel for the place. We love it.

Amazing Place

I came here for a weeks holiday from London, I came across the Boathouse while I was on the beach with my family, we all ate there twice. Very welcoming staff always smiling, food was great, Boathouse sundae was even greater. We were looked after by Justine and her service was second to none... beautiful location and views of lake and sea ... definitely coming back next year.
