I am a well established drummer and drum teacher based in Kingsbridge, South Devon. Known for my powerful and solid groove I have played all over the country within different musical projects. Thanks to my friendly approach to teaching I have gained a large number of regular students that take lessons on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Over the years I have performed at some of the biggest and well known venues and music festivals in the country, including The Cambridge Rock Festival, Guildfest Music Festival and The Bulldog Bash.
I have also played in support of many big names including Shaun Rider (Happy Mondays), Status Quo, The Virgin Mary’s, The Quireboys, Willie and the Bandits, Debora Bonham and Bad Manners to name just a few.
I began having drum lessons at the age of 11 with Colin Bellworthy and had lessons for five years where I learnt the basics of drumming and how to read music.
At 13 I was playing along to well known rock tracks and out gigging with his first band, which continued until I left school at 16. After I left school I played for various bands building a name for myself in the local South Hams area. As my reputation grew people started calling me for various gigs, sessions and also drum lessons.
In January 2009, with a lot of determination and passion I started my own business as a drummer/drum teacher working privately and at local schools. To further my knowledge, increase my playing ability and to aid me with my teaching, I have been studying hard to complete a BA (hons) music degree. In 2010 I joined the Drumsesce team based in Croyden, London to teach their drum syllabus whilst also travelling to the midlands once a month to have lessons with top session drummer and Pitchshifter/Axewound drummer Jason Bowld.
“Jason really helped me out with my technical and double kick drumming, and helped me understand the ins and outs of recording drums professionally".
I currently teach drum kit at local schools and privately at my well equipped studio in South Devon. I enjoy playing many different genres of music including funk, blues, rock, metal, drum ‘n’ bass and world music. I currently have a large number of regular pupils that come to me on a weekly or fortnightly basis for drum lessons and I am the drummer for ‘Chippietucker’ and also my side project band ‘Quad Damage’. I also like to compose and record my own music.
