About Modbury Pre-School
Modbury is a small town in the beautiful countryside of the South Hams in Devon. Our pre-school benefits from being part of this friendly and active community. Throughout the year we are involved in community events and we have links with local play groups and businesses.
We are closely linked to Modbury Primary School. Our location makes it easy for us to share experience and gives our children a great opportunity to see and mix with pupils at the school. We are often invited to join in with key events in the school calendar and, once a week, our children join in with the school reception class.
To provide an introduction to Modbury Pre-School, we hold stay and play session on Thursday afternoons from 1:00p.m. to 3:30p.m. (pre-booking is essential as numbers are limited).
We are a registered provider of the extended entitlement of 30 hrs (1140/annum) free childcare for eligible working parents of 3 and 4 year olds. If your child becomes eligible next term you can register now to be contacted by the HMRC when it becomes available to you: at https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/. You can apply at https://childcare-support.tax.service.gov.uk/par/app/applynow. If you are eligible you will be given an 11 digit code which we will need to process your application. If you are not entitled to extended entitlement you will still receive the universal entitlement which is 570 hours funding per year: 15hrs per week. We will also be excepting the 2 year old funding from eligible parents. Please contact us if you need help determine your eligibility for any of the above funding.
School's Out at Modbury
Modbury Pre-School open from Monday to Friday and the session times are shown below:
Our stay and play sessions, for children accompanied by a carer, take place on Thursday afternoons from 1:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. They allow families to get used to our surroundings and to meet the staff and other children. Numbers are limited and the sessions are popular so it is important to phone ahead to pre-book. We request a donation of £2 to contribute pre-school operating costs.
Attendance is charged at £4.30 per hour and is booked as whole sessions. Parents may opt for a hot lunch for their child from the primary school kitchen. It is carried over to the preschool for the child. The charge for this meal is £2.30 and is payable to the Primary School in addition to the pre-school fee. You can pay a lump sum in advance. A menu of the school meals can be provided upon request and is always available on Modbury Primary School website in the Parent section. All attendance fees are invoiced monthly in arrears and continue to be payable if the child is absent or on holiday. We offer electronic payment methods and a flexible payment system for families of differing means.
As a registered Early Years Education Funding (EYEF) Provider, the pre-school is able to offer eligible three and four year olds EYEF entitlement in accordance with Devon County Council guidelines and conditions.
