Very spacious , excellent bathroom with bath and walk in shower. Balcony had loungers chairs and table and wonderful view over the beach and sea. The views over Hope cove are added to by the views of the sunsets. The meals were excellent and the service was efficient and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. I commend the management and all the staff . Hope cove is super chilled, great walks and a couple nice pubs too, so much food it's unreal. We stayed in room 211, it was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was good. The food was nice with plenty of choice each night, I must mention the cheese board which was excellent when added to a small glass of port. The cottage hotel is old fashioned but that is its charm, my overall feeling while I was staying there was one of relaxation. Extremely well run and staff were all helpful and efficient. Relaxed atmosphere. In the process of a big extension build when we were here but that did not affect us. We all had sea view rooms with four couples having balconies. The views are stunning so it is worth having a balcony room. As to the food - well - how can I start to describe it ? Five courses on offer - none of us could get as far as the fifth course. When the sweet trolley comes round it is laden with so many choices - all delicious. We only stayed 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer - although our clothes would never have fitted ! The only thing we didn't like was nothing to do with the hotel - it was the very narrow lanes in the area - only one car width in places. Loads to see in Salcombe area (4 miles) and around.
