Wassail at Heron Valley Orchards
Event Info
Associated Listings
Join the team at Heron Valley as they feed the gods of the orchard.
Wassailing is an ancient West Country tradition and is said to encourage a bountiful harvest, celebrate the beauty of nature and scare away malign spirits.
We’ll have traditional story tellers for children, folk musicians, and poets to lead our procession through the orchard before blessing our trees by leaving cider-soaked toast in their branches and pouring more cider into the roots.
Mulled cider and apple juice will be flowing and delicious hot sausages will be served from the bar. Warm clothes and wellies are essential and bring your pots and wooden spoons to bang.
All proceeds will be going to the Devon Wildlife Trust’s brilliant Avon Valley Project, so come hungry and thirsty to support a great cause that needs our help more than ever.
