Prawle Fair - 4th June 2022.
East Prawle, Devon’s most southerly village, is the place to be for Prawle Fair – where you can really get away from it all. The Village Green goes back in time hosting traditional fair rides, delicious refreshments, stalls and live music. At 2pm the fair kicks off with the traditional “Raising of the Glove” ceremony which according to legend signifies free trade and clemency from prosecution during the fair.
There are refreshments to tempt you too - try a BBQ lunch with a Pimm’s followed up by a delicious Devon cream tea from the Tea Tent. If you want to take some yummy home-made cakes home visit the Cake Stall where there will be a wonderful choice of cakes to rival any Bake-Off selections!! Additional refreshment options are also available from the Piglet Cafe and the Pigs Nose Inn.
The annual fair is a huge community effort with most of the villagers involved in some way. It raises funds to support the Community Hall and local good causes such as First Responders.
Throughout the day there will be live music to get you dancing – something the villagers of East Prawle are very fond of doing.
So why not come along and join us for an afternoon of family fun in one of the most beautiful villages in Devon – entrance to the Fair is free with parking just £2 a car!
