Fire crews are battling a blaze at South Milton Sands

Four fire crews are currently battling a blaze at the Beachhouse at South Milton Sands.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "A large number of calls were received by Fire Control this morning around 05:50hrs with reports of black smoke coming from the South Milton Sands area.

"Fire appliances from Kingsbridge, Salcombe, Modbury and Plympton were mobilised.

"Upon their attendance, fire crews confirmed one building is well alight.

"Updates to follow in due course."
