SHDC asks users to use RingGo parking app after five parking machines are damaged

South Hams District Council has asked users to use the RingGo parking app or to call to pay for parking in Totnes after five machines are damaged by thieves.

Eight coin-operated pay-and-display parking machines in Totnes were "broken into and damaged by thieves" on Friday, 22 July.

The machines have been out of order since.

South Hams District Council has said that engineers are due to fix the machines next week, but is asking users to use the RingGo app [you can download it from the Apple App Store and Android Play Store] or by calling the number on the front of the machines to pay for their parking.

A spokesperson said: "We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause."

The car parks that are affected are Victoria Street, Heaths Nursery, Heathway, The Nursery and Old Market.
