Coastguard rescues casualty with multiple leg fractures
Dartmouth and Kingsbridge Coastguard Rescue Teams rescued a casualty from Gara Rock Beach that had multiple leg fractures.
Dartmouth Coastguard Rescue Team was called by Falmouth Coastguard to assist Kingsbridge Coastguard Rescue Team at Gara Rock Beach on Saturday, 17 June, at around 8pm.
The casualty had fallen badly and fractured their tibia, fibula and ankle.

The Kingsbridge team were administering care to the casualty and assisting two South Western Ambulance Service paramedics who were controlling their pain.
The casualty was prepared for removal to the field above the beach and the Dartmouth team prepared a landing zone for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust helicopter.
They were then transferred to the air ambulance and flown to hospital for treatment.
