Man appears in court charged with murder
Rowan Sutton has appeared in Plymouth Magistrates Court yesterday, charged with the murder of 22-year-old Aimee Pike.
Sutton, 30, of West Charleton Court, West Charleton, appeared at Plymouth Magistrates Court yesterday, Monday, 28 April, where he was remanded in custody while his case is sent to Plymouth Crown Court.
He has been charged with the murder of Aimee Pike on Wednesday, 23 April, at Embankment Road, Kingsbridge.
He has been denied bail due to the "nature and seriousness of the offence" and sent for trial at Plymouth Crown Court today.
Meanwhile, Kingsbridge Police have given advanced warning of another road closure along Embankment Road between 9.30am until 12noon on Wednesday, 30 April, to "allow advanced photography of the area for the ongoing investigation".
The road will be closed between the cemetery on Embankment Road to Bowcombe Creek Bridge.
Planned road closure - Kingsbridge Police
A spokesperson for Kingsbridge Police said: "Please note that the lane to the NORTH of Embankment Road and Bowcombe Creek Bridge will remain OPEN. It is narrow, there are pinch / passing points, so please take it slow and only travel on it if you need to.
"If you’re coming from the West / town direction: there will be signs up at Warren Road and we suggest you turn around there. If coming from the East, we will have signs up around Noyces and suggest larger vehicles turn around as the lanes will be awful for HGVs.
"Hopefully the map I’ve drawn on paint (yes, paint) makes it clear: yellow = passable / access only, but red = absolutely shut.
"If you live inside the closed section, ask one of us and we’ll let you out. The work will be done as quickly as it can, but please bear with us. Much obliged."
