Offering in person and delivery within the school holidays, the initiative also offers activities for children and young people including crafts, soft play, bouncy castle and Kingsbridge Youth for Christ run their football cage for the young people that come along.

Heather Richmond, Soul Food Co-ordinator, said: “It’s a real community effort with generous support and donations from individuals, charities, churches as well as local and national businesses including: Heron Valley Cider Ltd, Alan’s Apple, Aune Valley Meat ltd, Warcombe Produce Ltd, Flowers of Kingsbridge, Tesco, Morrisons and Divine Chocolate.

“The initiative launched at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 and it has been such a huge help for so many families who need the support in this community. With rising inflation and living costs only getting worse I really see the support being needed more than ever.

“It is such a privilege to organise it all with 30+ volunteers from local churches and see families being provided for.”
