South Hams District Council is offering grants for market traders who want to improve their market presence or are struggling with start up costs.

A spokesperson for South Hams District Council said: "Do you want to improve your market presence? Or do you need help with the costs of starting up your own pitch?

"Through the Government’s Rural England Prosperity Fund, we are offering financial support to eligible businesses across the South Hams, with grants available from £150 to £1,000.

"Grants can be used to buy essential trading equipment like gazebos, tables, and digital payment terminals.

"We want to help support the local economy, including our wonderful market traders, as much as we can."
