Video shows power of Storm Ciarán in the South Hams
A video of seawater crashing through the front of a hotel shows the impact of Storm Ciarán.
The South Sands Hotel in Salcombe was hit with the full force of Storm Ciarán on Thursday, 2 November, as a video shows waves crashing through the windows of the building.

After the damage on Thursday, the South Sands Hotel posted on social media to say they were having to close their doors after "significant damage" was caused by the storm.
They posted: "Unfortunately, Storm Ciarán has left us with some significant damage so we have been forced to close our doors for the coming week...We hope to reopen on Friday 10th November..."
Across the rest of the South Hams, a tree fell on a police vehicle at Gara Bridge, requiring the officer to be taken to hospital to be checked over and was found to have only minor injuries.
