This unique waterfront location has been in the Waterhouse family for almost a century. Following extensive landscaping in the 1980s Port Waterhouse provides customised mooring services to boating enthusiasts in the Salcombe Estuary.

The business is now run as partnership between two generations, Crispin Waterhouse and his Aunt Isobel Waterhouse. Significant investment has taken place in recent years with the addition of new walk-on pontoon moorings and most recently, the exciting build of a new boat storage facility and Boathouse venue perfect for weddings and events.

Hassle-free boating in a premier location

At Port Waterhouse we pride ourselves in offering a complete package to make your boating as relaxed and enjoyable as possible.

We have a range of facilities to suit your requirements and can build a custom package for you including mooring, car parking, dinghy storage, equipment storage, trailer storage and basic maintenance. We will do our best to accommodate any additional needs you may have. 

Moorings

We offer both seasonal and temporary moorings. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Weddings at Port Waterhouse

If you're looking for a waterside wedding venue in a stunning location but with the flexibility to bring your own style to the day, Port Waterhouse may be the place for you.

Our recently constructed Boathouse sits right on the waterfront and is licensed to hold wedding ceremonies for up to 100 guests.

The Boathouse can also accommodate up to 65 people for a sit-down wedding breakfast. For larger weddings our fabulous lawn overlooking the estuary offers ample space for a marquee and additional facilities. 

We work with a number of local suppliers of wedding services and can provide a list of preferred suppliers on request. Otherwise, it's up to you to bring together the people you want to make your wedding a day to remember.

Pop up BBQ Nights

Due to current government guidelines around COVID-19, we are not running our usual pop-up dining events at this time. We are however open for pop-up bar and BBQ nights during the school holidays. 

What:

Fully stocked bar and Ox Grills BBQ

Choice of meat served with salads and roasted new potatoes - £12.50 per person*

When:

Friday and Saturday nights from 5pm**

Where:

We have socially distanced tables in the Boathouse and on our balcony. We also have a number of tables on our large lawn overlooking the estuary

*Subject to change. **We have a large marquee on the lawn so we can go ahead in wet weather, however we may occasionally need to cancel if the weather is really bad.

Membership

We are pleased to offer the following membership packages for non-mooring customers.

Casual Membership (£150  per season):
- Parking pass - free parking in parking field while car park is open (May-Oct)
- 10% off venue hire
- Use of boathouse facilities (toilets, boathouse (when open) & balcony

- Pedestrian access to foreshore Apr-Oct
- Launch kayaks and Paddleboards at Port Waterhouse for £5/launch (not available to the public)
- Store your kayak/Paddleboards with us. Standard storage fees apply - £100 for SUP or single kayak, £150 double kayak (normally requires purchase of a mooring)

Upon payment of the invoice we will issue a parking pass, membership pass and add you to our membership list so you can start taking advantage of our facilities.

Locals Membership (FREE):

In addition to our casual membership scheme we offer an East Portlemouth residents scheme which includes:

- Launch kayaks and SUPs at Port Waterhouse for £5/launch (not available to the public)
- Store your kayak/Paddleboard with us. Standard storage fees apply - £100 for SUP or single kayak, £150 double kayak (normally requires purchase of a mooring)

Parking

Due to COVID-19, our car park is currently available for mooring holders and customers of Salcombe Paddle boarding only.
