Welcome to the Church House Inn, Churchstow, a 13th Century village pub steeped in history and bursting with original charm and character.
Inglenook fireplace, log burners & beams a plenty, with legends of smuggling monks and secret tunnels down in the well in the rear entrance, leading to the Church and beyond.
A perfect place to relax, step back in history and enjoy really good honest pub food, a mix of classic & contemporary dishes with daily Chef's seasonal specials.

We went as a party of 6 and had a table in the bar area which is slightly more lively. The service was very prompt, attentive and friendly. The food was excellent, particularly the fish special and the seafood curry. There is a wonderful selection of deserts and the option of a small size desert is a great idea.

We had a lovely stay at the Church House Inn, Churchstow. The rooms are really beautiful and comfortable. The pub has a really nice atmosphere and the food and drinks were all delicious. We would definitely recommend to anyone staying or eating in the area - thank you for having us!

We recently had the pleasure of dining at the Church House Inn in Churchstow, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.
The service we received from the front of house, Sophie, was outstanding. We had our little boy, Monty, with us, who is 2 years old. Sophie really made a fuss over him and complimented his glasses, which we've been struggling to get him to wear. Her kindness made a big difference to us.
Our waitress, Percie, was also incredibly kind and served us with a smile throughout our meal.
For starters, we had the prawn cocktail. For mains, we enjoyed the half lobster and burgers, and for dessert, we had warm chocolate brownies. The food was piping hot, very tasty, and came out in no time at all.
I would highly recommend the Church House Inn to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service. It is well worth the drive from Salcombe! We will definitely be back.

Passed this pub many times whilst staying in the area and this time actually managed a visit. Called in a couple of days before to check menu and book table, we weren't disappointed. Friendly & welcoming staff and the barmaid remembered us. Fab atmosphere, good food and we'll definitely return next time we're in the South Hams.

We chose this pub at random for some Sunday lunch, I fancied a proper lunch with real beef rather than the processed rubbish you get in many places these days.
I had the roast beef dinner, my wife had the corn fed chicken, both were perfect, the beef was some of the best I've tasted, really tender and juicy, packed with flavour - I tried the chicken as well, really nice and you can taste the difference when it's corn fed chicken.
Really enjoyable lunch, it was exactly what we wanted and well worth trying.
Keep a look out for the well if you come in through the rear entrance, that looks deep !
