If, like many, you’ve little idea what goes on beneath the bonnet of your car, finding a garage you can trust can be a daunting prospect. That’s why you need somebody like Steve Shute of SMVR (Shute Motor Vehicle Repairs) in Kingsbridge.

Covering everything from servicing and MOTs to new tyres and repairs, SMVR has just opened its doors on Garden Mill Industrial Estate off Derby Road, and the recommendations are already beginning to pour in: ‘Fast, efficient and reliable. I was very impressed with the work carried out and at such a reasonable cost,’ says one happy customer.

Steve has been passionate about cars since a teenager, and subsequently trained and worked locally for years as a mechanic before being given the chance to run his own business. ‘I’m so grateful for the opportunity since it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve also invested in the latest diagnostic equipment and technology so things are really beginning to take off’, he says. ‘It’s an added bonus when people take the time to write and thank us for the work we’ve done,’ Steve continues. He is supported by fellow mechanic and long-time colleague, Carl, and by his wife, Laura, who keeps up with the admin and accounts.

Whether your car is your pride and joy or an indispensable family workhorse, there’s no doubt that cars can be expensive to keep on the road, but Steve and his team take pride in ensuring their customers receive a top notch service at a fair price. ‘We cover most makes of vehicle and no job is too small; we just love what we do.’

With such dedication and enthusiasm, more glowing reviews are bound to follow.
