Forest & Beach at Beeson - Giving children the tools and freedom to explore for themselves, learning about their environment

Forest & Beach offers curriculum-linked outdoor learning and environmental education to schools across the UK.

Run by Pete and Andrea Moore, experienced primary school teachers and pioneers of forest school in South Devon, they take young people on a unique journey of discovery.

Using an inspirational approach, they bring out the best in young people, giving them the freedom to explore the natural environment in a fun, creative and practical way.

We offer a range of educational activities including forest school, beach school, farm visits, agricultural education and bespoke visits, such as:

• Forest days - Children spend a day in the woods taking part in outdoor cooking, shelter-building, fire lighting, explorations, using tools and more.
• Beach days - Search the strandline, create beach art, explore rock pools and learn about our fantastic marine environment.
• Costal adventure days - Our coastal adventure days are delivered to schools during term-time, and to children in the school holidays.
• Residential stays - Children take part in a wide range of forest school and beach school activities.
• Canoeing/ forest & beach activity days
• River study days - Teaching about source to sea.
• Curriculum-linked days - Anglo-Saxon days, Stone Age Days as well as Science, Literacy and Art themed days.
• Young Adventurers Club and pre-school visits
• John Muir Award and consultancy - Helping them develop their outdoor learning areas.
• Outdoor learning consultancy - Pete is an Experiential Learning Facilitator and offers outdoor learning consultancy to schools and charities.

• Birthday Parties - Parties take place in the beautiful woodland with sea views, with a parachute canopy for shelter and seating area around a fire pit.
• Hosting training days - Our education centre has hosted many training days from ranging from beach schools training to outdoor first aid.
