Carnival and parades re-routed, but Kingsbridge Fair Week is nearly here!

Due to the long-running roadworks at the bottom of Kingsbridge, some of the mainstays of the event have been diverted or re-routed, but the show will go on!
The Lantern Parade and the Floral Dance will be taking a slight detour around Mill Street and Prince of Wales Road to get to the Town Square, the 10K race has been re-routed and the Carnival will now start at Manor Park, joining the usual route at Duncombe Street and round the one way system to finish in Waterside Park.
But apart from that, Rowland's Fun Fair will be on the Quay, activities and fun will be taking place all through the week and we will have just as much fun as we usually do during Kingsbridge Fair Week.
There will be two free family workshops on Saturday 18 and 19 of July at the Kingsbridge Care Hub next to Quay House between 11am-5pm, where you can create a lantern for the Lantern Parade. This year's theme is ‘Myths and Legends’. Remember you or your child will have to carry it around town so don't make it too heavy!
There is the favourites Odd Object Competition, Town Crier competition, Three-legged Race, the Pool Competitions, the Teddy Bears' Picnic, the Real Crazy Quiz, the Raft Race and the Fireworks.
Pick up the official programme from Asda Express, Ilbert Road; Kingsbridge Information Centre; Morrisons, Cookworthy Road; Morrisons Daily, The Promenade; Morrisons Daily, Fore Street; or Tesco, Cookworthy Road, for £3 to support Kingsbridge Fair Week and find out all the information, dates and times for all the goings on.
