A South Hams business scoops THREE Taste of the West Gold Awards after the first phase of judging

A South Hams business, and SouthHams.com member, has scooped THREE Taste of the West Gold Awards after the first phase of judging.

Aune Valley Meats has won Gold in the South West Cafe or Tearoom category with their Valley View Cafe in Loddiswell, and both their Loddiswell and Modbury locations have each been awarded Gold in the South West Farm Shop category.

The judges called their visit to the Modbury farm shop “a joyful shopping experience” and urges Aune Valley Meats to open a shop in Dartmouth saying “they are very much aimed at the top end customer which differentiates them from the Co-op around the corner”.

They called the Loddiswell location a “pleasure to visit” with “old village shop ambience”. They called the staff “knowledgable” and “passionate” and said the trip was “a treat and good value for money”.

When it came to Valley View Cafe, the judges said: “The Valley View Café appears to be a popular venue in the South Hams for regular visitors. It has a variety of options for different days of the week, with a good selection of locally sourced produce.

“A pleasant and enjoyable visit – we would recommend."

The Aune Valley Meats team said they were “thrilled” to have won three awards and thanked their “incredible team” for their “continued hard work and commitment to our businesses”, adding: “Aune Valley wouldn't be Aune Valley without each and every one of you!!”
