The Cottage Hotel prides itself on being a traditional hotel, with old-fashioned service, comfortable lounges and delicious meals. Run by the Ireland family since 1973, personal service is key to our attitude. You are not just another number here, you are a name, and a name we often welcome back year after year.

Hope Cove is the sort of place you may remember from your childhood. Sheltered beaches, thatched cottages, and dramatic views. Whether it is playing on the sands with the children, walking the cliff paths, or just relaxing on our terraces and enjoying the view, you will not forget this hidden jewel of Devon.

At the Cottage Hotel, there is no reason to go hungry. With our famous five-course dinners in the evening, to our modern "Allora" bar and naturally a genuine Devon Cream tea, there is something for everyone.

Wake up to a sea view and watch the sunset in the evening from your bedroom.
All bedrooms have flat screen LCD digital television, hair dryers and courtesy tea tray. There is free wifi Internet in the lounges and all sea-view rooms. Deluxe rooms include a DVD player.

Second visit to this lovely hotel - this time in a group of ten friends. Extremely well run and staff were all helpful and efficient. Relaxed atmosphere. In the process of a big extension build when we were here but that did not affect us. We all had sea view rooms with four couples having balconies. The views are stunning so it is worth having a balcony room. As to the food - well - how can I start to describe it ? Five courses on offer - none of us could get as far as the fifth course. When the sweet trolley comes round it is laden with so many choices - all delicious. We only stayed 4 nights and wish we could have stayed longer - although our clothes would never have fitted ! The only thing we didn't like was nothing to do with the hotel - it was the very narrow lanes in the area - only one car width in places. Loads to see in Salcombe area (4 miles) and around. Didn't get to try the new lobster cafe in the pods - next time we will.
