Body found in search for John Harrison

The body of missing man John Harrison who was last seen in the Kingsbridge area on Sunday 17 October and was believed to have entered the river on an inflatable kayak paddling towards Salcombe has been found on Kingsand Beach, Torpoint.

The police statement reads as follows:

The body of a man was located on Kingsand beach, Torpoint, on Friday 23 December.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

Formal identification has taken place.

The family of John Harrison, 52, from Crediton, who was reported missing on Sunday 17 October, have been made aware.
