The Prawle Point Coastguard Rescue team have rescued a woman from the South West Coast Path.

The Prawle Point Coastguard Rescue team were tasked by the Maritime and Coastguard agency to assist South Western Ambulance Service on Friday, 29 April, just after 2pm.

The casualty was a woman who had fallen and inured herself between Gara Rock and Mill Bay.

A spokesperson for Prawle Point Coastguard Rescue team said: "On arrival, a team was dispatched to locate the casualty as the precise location was unclear.

"The casualty was soon located and following an assessment...it was decided the best course of action was to stretcher [her] along the coast path to a suitable access point to handover to the waiting ambulance."

If you see anyone in difficulty on or near the coast or tidal estuary, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
