Have you ever experienced a full native bluebell woodland during the peak of its spring energy? This is your invitation to immerse yourself in the wonder of Deer Wood.

A spokesperson for The Deer Wood Trust said: "This incredible expression of nature has been witnessed by all of the visitors to Deer Wood in Loddiswell during its annual Bluebell Open Weekend and has left people in awe of its beauty.

"They have also been amazed by the lasting positive effects it has had on their mind, heart and spirit."

Founders of The Deer Wood Trust, Lisa Pugh and Marc Biddle have opened gates to the public for Bluebell Weekend since 2017, with the intention of "sharing this uplifting experience", seeing first hand the "profound and joyful effect it has on everyone".

Year-on-year, Marc and Lisa have enjoyed welcoming a growing number of the wider community to this wood during Bluebell time, observing with delight as these visitors "immerse themselves in the wonder of nature at it’s brilliant best".

This April’s Bluebell Open Weekend is set for Saturday, 29 April, and Sunday, 30 April, between 11am and 5pm. It is a landmark occasion for Deer Wood as it represents the culmination of a long-worked-for vision to be an Eco-Venue. An inclusive space of potential for all those who wish to "benefit from the reconnection and healing" that such a "serene and safe place as this natural, wild environment offers".

There will be much to see and be inspired by as this is also the first year that an ‘Eco-Collaborative’ table is included; an opportunity to be motivated by seeing what an incredible range of Earth protectors and like-minded people we have in this area (including Till The Coast is Clear and Sustainable South Hams).

There will also be the chance to speak to some of the guest teachers about future courses and lots of delicious foraged foods for everyone to try.
