Dartmouth Food Festival has had to extend their cancellations of some events into Saturday due to the weather and high winds.

The Dartmouth Food Festival committee has announced that all exhibitors taking place "under canvas" will now be cancelled on Friday and Saturday.

A statement reads: "Following the decision on Wednesday to postpone some elements of this year’s festival on Friday, we have been monitoring the situation and it is with regret that we must now roll forward this decision to include both Friday and Saturday.

"To clarify, this means that all exhibitors trading under canvas, on Friday and Saturday will be cancelled.

"It should be noted however that this does not apply to exhibitors trading in The Market Square on Saturday as they will be open as planned.

"Events taking place at the Flavel, Dartmouth Yacht Club, The Sail Loft, Browns Hotel and the Flavel Church will continue as planned.

"In addition Fire and Flame on the South Embankment are planning to be open both Saturday and Sunday.
Although also under canvas, we will still be running Food Matters, Chef Demo Tent and Workshops in Royal Avenue Gardens on Saturday.

"On a happy note the weather forecast for Sunday is much improved and we are expecting to present a full program.

"These decisions have not been taken lightly. However the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in the Food Festival - our visitors, exhibitors, volunteers, presenters and event teams, is our highest priority."
