Six fire crews attended a house fire today.
Crews from Ashburton, Buckfastleigh, Totnes, Plympton, Crownhill and Ivybridge were called to a house in Ugborough on Tuesday, 5 April.
Reports of a fire were made just after 9am and three fire engines were sent. When crews arrived, they found “the asbestos roof of the domestic premises was well alight”.
Two more crews and a water bowser were called to the scene and the fire was extinguished by 6.30pm,
The fire resulted in 50% fire damage and 50% smoke and heat damage to the property and is believed to have started accidentally.
