Tributes are paid to Dartmouth woman as man charged with murder
FeaturedNewThe woman who died in Dartmouth on Tuesday has been named as 46-year-old Rebecca Grass, as a man is charged with her murder.
Rebecca Grass was pronounced dead at the scene of Newcomen Road following police and paramedics being called to reports of a "serious disturbance" at around 9.20pm on Tuesday, 6 October.
Rebecca's son Reece Romeril led tributes to her, calling her someone who had "the kindest of souls" and said "how someone can brutally kill my mother in such a horrible way is absolutely terrifying to think about".
Hundreds of people shared their thoughts about Rebecca, including calling her "one of the kindest people I ever met" and saying she was "always a good laugh and has such a lovely soul" and "would do anything for literally anyone".
Luke Rigby, 38, of Newcomen Road, Dartmouth, is due to appear before Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 10 October accused of the murder of 46-year-old Rebecca Grass.
Police and paramedics were called following reports of a serious disturbance at a property in Newcomen Road at around 9.20pm on Tuesday, 6 October.
Miss Grass was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 46-year-old man was also taken to hospital with facial injuries. Rigby is charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm in relation to the injured man.
He is also charged with three further separate alleged offences of assault by beating, racially-aggravated public order offence and assault on an emergency worker. Rigby currently remains in police custody.
Miss Grass’s family have been informed of the developments and continue to be supported by specially-trained officers.
