Woman airlifted from the South West Coast Path with a suspected broken ankle

A woman has been airlifted off the South West Coast Path at Portlemouth Down with a suspected broken ankle. 

Prawle Point Coastguard Rescue Team were called to the scene near Gara Rock yesterday, where the Devon Air Ambulance was already on scene providing casualty care.

A spokesperson for PPCRT said: "Once they had stabilised the casualty we packaged them onto our rescue stretcher and proceeded to carry the casualty back up the coast path to the air ambulance."
