A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for both wind and rain tomorrow.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning across the South Hams for both wind and rain tomorrow, but we are avoiding the red weather warnings across Northern Ireland and Scotland.

The rain warning will be in place between midnight tonight (Thursday/Friday 23/24 January) and 9am tomorrow, and the wind warning will be in place between 5am and 3pm tomorrow, Friday 24 January.

 The Met Office advises that:

  • Heavy rain on Friday morning may cause some local flooding
  • Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible
  • Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer
  • Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer
  • Some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely
