A man has been charged with driving under the influence after crash in Bantham

A man from Cornwall has been charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol after a crash in Bantham. 

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to a road traffic collision involving two vehicles in a car park in Bantham, at around 4pm, on Wednesday, 10 August.

There were no reports of any injuries.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Both vehicles were recovered from the scene and property damage was also reported.

"A man in his 30s from the Looe area of Cornwall was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs and remains in custody. He has now been charged with driving whilst under the influence of alcohol. He is due before Newton Abbot Magistrates’ Court on 26 October 2022."

We have contacted Bantham Estates for a comment and we will update this story as soon as we have any more information.

To clear things up, he would have had to have been the owner of the Bantham estate for your comment to be valid as driving under the influence is only legal if it is your property, however driving under the influence of drugs isnt legal anywhere.
Sadly you are demonstrating your lack of knowledge in this field.
