A section of the beach at Hallsands is going under the hammer in Ivybridge next month.

A section of the beach at Hallsands is due to go to public auction on 23 September at Shilstone House, Ivybridge.

The 5.69 acre (2.30 hectare) piece of "beach, sea frontage and amenity land"  has a guide price of £50,000.

The land - credit GTH

The land, marketed by GTH, includes "approximately 80m of uninterrupted coastline overlooking Start Bay while the borders comprise traditional hedgerows to the west with a stream to the south".

There is also a large area of shingle beach, while the rest is a wetland habitat area "rich in natural biodiversity" and woodland just north of Hallsands and in the parish of Stokenham.

GTH said the land is attractive "for purchasers seeking their own section of coastline for private enjoyment and recreation".

The area has no services (water, electricity etc) but does have a part of the South West Coast Path crossing the beach "at the east of the property from north to south".
