First Kingsbridge Show since the pandemic is great success
A problem with the card machines at the entrance to Kingsbridge Show did nothing to diminish the great vibe at this first show in years.
The weather held out for the first half of the day as hundreds of people flooded into the showground to come to the first Kingsbridge Show in three years.
As always with the Kingsbridge Show, there was the best that our area has to offer in cattle, sheep, horses, homecraft, food and drink as well as fun for the whole family.
The most exciting event in the main ring was Paul Hannam – Quad Bike Stunt Show, and it definitely got the adrenaline pumping. The mix of big jumps and intricate tricks impressed the crowds gathered around the show ring.
As well as the other events in the main ring, especially the gun dog display from Nick Gregory, the parade of vintage machinery and terrier racing, there was also the traditional parade of hounds, followed by a meet and greet for the kids and the hounds.
One of my favourite things to see at Kingsbridge Show was also the gymkhana games - watch it below:
The craft stalls were groaning with amazing trinkets and treasures and the food and drink tent was showing off all the yummiest creations from the Westcountry.
The ducks, chickens and other poultry were sadly absent this year due to the avian flu prevention zones but there were plenty of other animals to meet and the best and brightest in the cattle, sheep and equine events, with showing and ridden classes.
Everyone was really enjoying themselves and even when the heavens opened, most people took cover in a tent or under an awning but kept their smiles and enjoyed the rest of the day.
Overall, Kingsbridge Show 2022 was a great success and we can’t wait for next year!
