Hollywood star spotted in Hope Cove Lifeboat merchandise

Hollywood action star Jason Statham has been spotted wearing a Hope Cove Lifeboat hoodie - and you can get one too. 

Hope Cove Lifeboat is an independent lifeboat that raises 100% of the funds required to keep the service operating, with selling merchandise being a big source of fundraising.

While Hope Cove Lifeboat clothing has become a collectable for local people and visitors, it seems like members of the glitterati are also getting in on the act, with Hope Cove Lifeboat sharing a photo of Jason Statham wearing one of their hoodies, in shark grey apparently. 

Jason is engaged to Plymouth-born model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, so maybe they have visited the village and seen the work that the Hope Cove Lifeboat do. 

A spokesperson for Hope Cove Lifeboat said: "Hope Cove Life boat is lucky to have supporters all over the world. Jason just happens to be one of the more famous ones. I can’t comment on local rumours that he’s joining our crew, but we are always on the lookout for new recruits to join our boat, shore, fundraising and support crews.

"We sell our merchandise (which also includes t-shirts, caps and bucket hats) at our Hoodies at the Hut stall on Sunday’s during the school holidays. 

"All our merchandise comes from two local suppliers – Salcombe Embroiderers and Devon Tees who provide us with a brilliant service and have worked with Hope Cove Life Boat for many years. We’re very grateful for the support they provide.

"We have been called out on several rescues already this year and we’re only just at the start of our busy season.

"We want people to go out and enjoy the water and we’d encourage everyone to take a few steps to make sure you’re safe when you do. Check the conditions before you go, wear a lifejacket, and take a means of communication with you in case you need to call for help."
