Hope Cove Weekend a success despite the weather

Hope Cove Weekend organisers said "we aren't put off by a westerly in Hope Cove" as event is still a success despite weather.
After six weeks of bright sunshine, heatwaves and sweaty days, Hope Cove Weekend got the brunt of the new bad weather.
Despite the weather, only a couple of the events were cancelled and the real hardcore fancy dress entrants had their costumes judged in driving rain on Harbour Beach.

One of the organisers said: "The weekend was a success despite the change in the weather. Typical bank holiday!
"We only cancelled a couple of events, most took place as planned, the stall holders held onto their gazebos at times but had a good Monday and we managed to put on three nights of live entertainment in different locations around the village plus our first laser show.

Beach Flags - Hope Cove Weekend
It wasn't all bad weather though, and the Beach Flags competition was bathed in sunshine as the compeitiors challenged each other for the Hope Cove Weekend title.
This year the team opted for a laser show in lieu of the normal fireworks and, while it wasn't the best conditions for it, it seemed to go down well with most spectators.
