Kingsbridge Community College celebrates GCSE success

The GCSE students at Kingsbridge Community College, are celebrating another fantastic year of success. 

Students have received a strong set of results, reflecting their hard work, resilience, and commitment throughout their time at the college.

KCC sets high expectations for every student, creating an ambitious and supportive learning environment that empowers individuals to achieve their full potential. This year’s results are a testament to the strength of the college’s focus on academic excellence, personal development, and opportunity.

Among those who have excelled are:

• Zakiyyah Asharaf, who secured an exceptional eight grade 9s and three grade 8s.
• Harry Graham, who also achieved eight grade 9s as well as two grade 8s, and two grade 6s.
• Isabella Trowell, with seven grade 9s, three grade 8s, and one grade 7.
• Amelie Turner, who earned five grade 9s, five grade 8s, and one grade 6.
• Bethany Lethbridge, who achieved five grade 9s, two grade 8s, two grade 7s, and one grade 6.

Staff are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and are delighted that these students will now continue their academic journey in the Sixth Form at Kingsbridge Community College. They look forward to seeing them continue to flourish and serve as positive role models for younger students across the school.

In addition to these outstanding individual performances, many other students have made significant progress from their starting points. Their achievements are particularly impressive given the challenges they faced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted the end of their primary education and the beginning of their time at KCC.

Ofsted has rated KCC as Good, highlighting the college’s strong leadership and high aspirations for all learners. In their report, inspectors praised the well-structured, ambitious curriculum and the quality of careers education, which equips students with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their next steps in education, training, or employment.

Tina Graham, Principal at Kingsbridge Community College said: "It was a joy to see our students open their results and celebrate what they have achieved. These outcomes are the result of years of dedication and effort, and every single student should be proud of what they have accomplished.

"Our Year 11 students have been true role models, embracing learning, contributing positively to school life, and inspiring the younger years with their energy and engagement in all aspects of school."
