Kingsbridge Town Council warn about potential flooding this week
Kingsbridge Town Council has warned of potential flooding this week with a "succession of high tides".
Kingsbridge Town Council posted on social media to warn people that this week, Tuesday, 17 September, to Sunday 22 September, will have five meter high tides morning and evening, which "may be disruptive".
They said: "There are particularly high tides on Thursday and Friday:
"Thursday, 19 September, between 0645-0815 (5.4m) and 1900-2030 (5.6m)
"Friday, 20 September, between 0730-0900 (5.4m) and 1945-2115 (5.6m)
"A full listing of high tides during 2024 can be found at: kingsbridge.gov.uk/council/high-tide-timetable/ From experience, the areas that are most likely to flood are lower Ilbert Road by the Bus Station, Bridge Street and Mill Street.
"Please navigate around these locations and plan your day, if possible, to avoid driving at these times.
"If you believe you or your business may be at risk and you need sandbags, we can help. Please contact reception at KTC on telephone 01548 853296 to collect on weekdays between 9.30am and 1pm.
