Meet and greet your local police officers in East Allington and Totnes

The neighbourhood policing team in South Devon will be across various locations this week "meeting members of the public and listening to their concerns".

Officers will be available at the following dates and locations to speak face-to-face with residents - answering questions and understanding more about issues affecting the local community.

The policing team will be in the village hall in East Allington on Wednesday, 24 January, from 10.30am. 

More sessions will take place throughout the year. Upcoming dates include 2 February in Totnes at the Methodist Church from 10am, and Totnes Train Station on 5 February from 12pm.

“We really enjoy going along to these informal meetings” said Sergeant Peter Shotton, Neighbourhood Team Leader in South Devon, “it’s a great way for us to get to know the community, and for the community to get to know us.

“If you’re around on the day, please do come along - even if it’s just to find out about what we’re doing to keep the area safe. It is a useful opportunity for us to listen to the voices in our community and continue to recognise the important issues.”

The community engagement events happening this week take place during national Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action (22 – 26 January) which recognises the good work of local police teams who work alongside communities, carry out high visibility foot patrols and organise neighbourhood engagement sessions for all ages throughout the year.
