Plans for the new Kingsbridge skatepark are unveiled

Plans for a proposed skatepark in Kingsbridge have been unveiled.

The community group New Kingbridge Skatepark has revealed concept drawings for the proposed skatepark in Kingsbridge with contractor Wheelscape.

Leading group member Adam Sherring said: "After a lengthy and thorough tender process we are stoked to announce Wheelscape as our skatepark contractor!

"Bear in mind this is just a starting point and we will all have the opportunity to shape the park through further consultation.

"The process starts soon so stay tuned as we will need your help shaping a facility our town so desperately deserves!"

The designs feature areas for skateboarding, BMXing and rollerblading, as well as a climbing wall and tabble tennis tables and a socialising area.

One of the main problems with the current skatepark is branches, leaves and debris falling from the trees and bushes overhanging the area. Adam says that "sorting the branches and tree debris is absolutely paramount to the success of the park" and there is a "plan in place" to deal with it.

You can find out more by joining the New Kingsbridge Skatepark group on Facebook.

Looks and sounds fabulous. I'm sure this will be a huge asset for young people in the area. My grandchildren certainly approve! Well done Adam you are doing a great job.
