The Fidget Project, community-led Community Interest Company and support system for neurodivergent families, has launched its own sensory-aware festival series taking place this month.
The Fidget Fest has a host events happening throughout October. Webinars, in person events, family days and so much more.
You'll find information on Sensory Inclusive Schools, a deep dive into hidden senses, emotional freedom, seeing the child through their behaviour, recognising and meeting ADHD, dyslexia, working physically with Senosory Processing Disorder, supporting parents with adolescent children, martial arts and movement based sessions, peer support groups, meet and greet sessions or a day at the local rare breeds.
Local pub, the Sportsmans Arms is also welcoming neurodiverse families with open arms.
Rather than one large festival, they’re bringing together a programme of smaller events, activities and experiences in local communities throughout Sensory Processing Awareness Month.
Created with neurodivergent and sensory-sensitive children and families in mind, Fidget Fest is about discovering new experiences, connecting with others and creating spaces where everyone can take part in and around Totnes, Kingsbridge, and Ivybridge.
As well as events to get you and your children out and about and taking part in new experiences, Fidget Fest also includes a number of events that you can attend online, from the comfort of your own home.
There are parent sessions with professionals from around the country, there are sessions aimed purely at children and events thats aim to bring the whole family together.
Zoe Warne, volunteer co-ordinator for The Fidget Project, explained: "We are so very proud to be hosting a month long festival to raise awareness of Sensory Processing Differences.
"Our Community Interest Company (CIC) has supported many families throughout the South Hams and we look forward to welcoming more of you in the future.
"No one is alone, at The Fidget Project you have a village right behind you, celebrating the wins and supporting you through the trickier days. Our events are open to you all."
If you think the Fidget Fest might have something you and/or your children would be interested in, check out their full programme of events here: thefidgetproject.co.uk/fidget-fest-2026/
To close the festival, there will be an evening of poetry, spoken word and comedy - Neurodivulgent: I Love It When Irritating Noises Stop, which will be a "celebratory finale to Fidget Fest, bringing together three distinctive
neurodivergent voices for an evening that’s funny, thoughtful, playful and occasionally surprising".
