Members of the Totnes and Kingsbridge Slimming World group have raised more than £1,500 by donating cash to see their Consultant dress up in a costume.

For the sixth year running Slimming World members in Totnes and Kingsbridge have raised a fantastic amount for Rowcroft Hospice by donating cash to see their Consultant dress up for their Christmas groups in a ridiculous costume - chosen by them.

Nat Bamforth

In previous years Consultant, Nat Bamforth, has run group dressed as a Christmas Pudding, Christmas Cracker, Christmas Tree, Snowman, Donkey And a Christmas Fairy – all voted for by her Slimming World Members. This year’s costume was a surprise!

Nat’s friends, family and fellow Consultants from across the country have also contributed and the groups have run some bumper raffles too bringing the total raised for Rowcroft to £1,560.

Nat said: “Rowcroft nurses cared for my both my parents, making the most terrible times of our lives a little easier to bear and many of my members have experienced the same care that my family did – so we like to give something back when we can.

"We have a collection tin all year round in group but it’s become a kind of tradition now that we raise some extra at Christmas. It’s been such a tough few years for so many people that I really wasn’t expecting to raise quite so much this year…but everyone has been so generous and this money will help a lot of people.
