Two horses that were found loose on the road were rescued by police and reunited with their owners.

Totnes Police were called to the scene on the Plymouth Road between Totnes and Avonwick on Sunday, 10 December, where two horses were loose.

Police officers ushered the horses into a gated field but were unable to identify the owners.

They posted on social media to try and track down the owners and tell them "if your field is missing two horses don’t panic- they’ve been safely secured".

The horses were eventually reunited with the owners and they are both home and safe. A happy ending.
