I am a Traditional Molecatcher based South Devon. I work mainly in the South Hams area, but do visit other parts of South West Devon. I am able to deal with your mole problem and stop them from turning your grass into an area resembling a battlefield. In addition to mole catching I now offer other services which include Rat and Mouse control as well as Wasp nest control for very competitive prices.
I am fully insured and provide a reliable poison free service for domestic gardens, small holdings, caravan sites, farms, local authorities, hotels and golf courses.
The only way to effectively deal with moles is to remove them by using a molecatcher. Please do not rely on the many gadgets that are on the market such as battery operated or solar vibrating mole poles or mole repellent powders. In my experience these do not work and can be an expensive waste of money. I have seen many of the vibrating poles which are claimed to scare moles away surrounded by mole hills !
The following are a number of facts about moles. Moles are insectivores whose diet consists of earthworms and small insects. The mole works in 4 hour shifts 365 days of the year. He does not hibernate and breeds once every twelve months mainly in the early part of the year, although this varies to a certain extent due to the weather. There are between 30 and 40 million moles in the UK but there are none in Ireland. This phenomenon is due to Ireland breaking away from the rest of the European land mass before moles inhabited what is now Europe and the the UK excluding Ireland. The first recorded mole traps were made by the Romans. Moles are very good swimmers which is why it is a waste of time attempting to drown them by flooding their tunnels. Moles live on average between 3 and 5 years and have no natural predators apart from mole catchers.
When mole catching, I rely on good quality barrel traps or putanges which are placed underground in the mole's run. When triggered the mole is dispatched humanely. As the mole is both a hemophiliac and very susceptible to trauma his end is both quick and clean.
If you have a problem with mole damage please call me I am always happy to offer free advice on dealing with your mole problem. Please see my reviews on Google and Yell. Unlike other mole catchers I offer a no mole, no fee service.
