KATS to perform Wind in the Willows next month - tickets on sale now!

Join the battle for Toad Hall at Malborough Village Hall as the award winning Kingsbridge Amateur Theatrical Society (KATS) will be putting on The Wind in the Willows.

Based on the beloved novel by Kenneth Grahame this is an enchanting tale about the wild banks of the River Thames that KATS will be bringing to life between 20 – 23 March.

KATS Wind in the Willows

Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey fame) has written this fast moving, comical musical with music and lyrics by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe (writers of Mary Poppins and Half a Sixpence).

The irrepressible Toad (who steals open-topped sports cars and escapes dressed as a woman!) joins his fellow friends, Badger, Mole, Ratty and Mrs Otter as they mess around in boats and confront evil in the Wild Woods.

It is a story of courage and friendship and with the amazing Keith Motson as Musical Director, Carey Ryan-Carter as our superb choreographer, fantastic costumes costumes (Christine Brooker and team), props (Sarah Fox) and a breath-taking set, this promises to be an unforgettable event!

KATS are thrilled to have teamed up with Toad Hall Cottages who are proudly sponsoring all advertising for this production.

SouthHams.com member Toad Hall Cottages is a holiday cottage provider in the South West of England offering over 900 self-catering holiday cottages throughout Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and the New Forest. Based in Kingsbridge their support for their local theatre has been fantastic and all involved in this production are extremely grateful.

We would also like to thank Palladium our local, family run independent builder’s merchant who have supplied us with free wood to make our amazing set. We could not do what we do without such support.

We are so fortunate this year to have another amazing team both on and off stage. Karen Sandy-Higham who joined us last year for costumes, has this year moved onto set design and build with the support of her team! An incredibly talented lady her vision is amazing and not to be missed!

New to the set team this year is 15-year-old Flyn Mattos. Flyn has wowed us wish his maturity and ideas – let alone all the incredible tools he owns! He and Alan Parker have been beavering away in a shed inventing new and exciting items for the stage!

We have even roped in our amazing Stage Manager’s (Sarah Fox) mother who is crocheting all the hats and tails!!

Tickets are now on sale at kats-kingsbridge.co.uk or call 07584 905810. Show dates are 20 – 23 March with a matinee on the 23 March. Their last three shows have been sold out – so don’t leave it too long! This is a show that every age group will enjoy – you might even want to see it twice!
