Local restaurant celebrates 30 years in business with food bank donation

Award winning restaurant, Maha Bharat in Kingsbridge, has celebrated 30 years of business by donating Christmas Dinners to those who needed it. 

The Maha Bharat has a long history of supporting their local community and donating food to the Kingsbridge Food Bank.

This year, on 22 December, they celebrated 30 years since the restaurant opened. Amirul Islam first the restaurant in 1992 and his hard work, resilience and attention to detail has made then Maha-bharat successful.

The team posted on their Facebook page, saying: "We celebrated 30 years the only way we know how, by giving back to our community. We’ve teamed up with Kingsbridge Food Bank and donated Christmas Dinner’s for those who need it.

"Having worked with Kingsbridge Food Bank over the years, you will be surprised how many go without a Christmas dinner. Please be kind and help where possible."

Talking about their anniversary, they said: "A massive thank you to all of our customers, family and friends. Without your continuous support we wouldn’t be in the position we are in currently. Also a massive shout out to all of our staff - all the hard work they do behind the scenes is unbelievable."

The Maha Bharat team say they are planning "to get better and better each and every year".
