Coast to Coast Water Safety provides guided swims around our stunning coastline as well as training

Coast to Coast Water Safety is a company that is passionate about keeping people safe in the water as well as sharing their enjoyment for the coast, the ocean and its wildlife.

Coast to Coast and their knowledgeable, local team have been providing guided swims around our beautiful coastline for three years.

Coast to Coast Water Safety was set up by Kate and Loïc Doison, both of whom have decades of experience in water safety and beach lifeguarding.

Coast to Coast Water Safety provides open water swim coaching, education and lifesaving courses all year round, connected with sea swimming and open water rescue. Aimed at swimmers, swim coaches, surf instructors and beach lifeguards, they provide you with the relevant information needed to help keep yourself and others safe in the ocean and improve your abilities in the sea.

“We want to give people a better understanding of the sea”, Loïc explained, “We can give people the training and the knowledge to better look after others and themselves.”

Coast to Coast Water Safety are a Surf Life Saving Great Britain accredited training centre and go the extra mile to make the learning experience fun and engaging. Most of their courses take place in the stunning surroundings of Challaborough Beach, one of the top surf beaches in the South Hams.

Alongside their popular and respected courses, Coast to Coast Water Safety also do “the fun bit”, which is taking people on guided swims around the area, giving a really unique perspective on our gorgeous coastline and the secrets that it holds.

“Most of our team are local", said Loïc, "with a depth of local knowledge, so not only can they point out the under-explored areas and secret places, but they can also tell you the best spots to get a drink or a meal when you’re finished!

“We really get to explore and we have a variety of swim ventures that explore the South Hams coastline, including Burgh Island, Thurlestone Rock and the Avon river, some with hikes on parts of the South West coast path. It is fitness, but it is also an amazing way to explore this beautiful place!

“The swims are led by a swim guide and with qualified lifeguards, it is a very chilled experience, perfect for anyone who doesn’t have the confidence to do these kinds of swims by themselves or just want to explore with some local knowledge. They know that they have an experienced safety team with them making them feel safe and secure."

These swim-ventures can also be tailored to those seeking team-building activity sessions and deals are available for local businesses.

Coast to Coast Water Safety also provides event, private and film water safety services. They have just provided safety cover for the Head of the Dart SUP Challenge, this marks the start of a busy event-filled calendar.
