Cornelia Davies is a fully qualified member of the British Acupuncture Council, practicing in Loddiswell, Devon and serve Kingsbridge and surrounding villages.
In 1980 I began my acupuncture training, graduating in 1983. I have continued to learn, and I did extensive training in China in 2006 and 2007.
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing art, which has a 2,000 - 7,000 year-long history. It’s used side-by-side with Western medicine in Chinese hospitals and for several decades it’s been widely used in the West.
An acupuncturist makes a detailed diagnosis according to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine. He or she then develops a treatment strategy in which a combination of points are stimulated with fine needles. The initial diagnostic session takes one-and-a-half hours, though in an acute situation or if it is more appropriate, simple emergency treatments can be used. Subsequent treatments are normally scheduled for forty-five minutes.
You will only be asked to undress the amount that is needed to access the points used. Mostly the points used are on the lower legs and arms.
Only new single-use sterile needles are used. Everything that happens or is said during the course of treatment is entirely confidential and will not be divulged without your expressed permission.
Facial Acupuncture is a natural way to bring more vitality to the face, encouraging a healthy glow. As part of a facial session I use gentle Chinese massage (TuiNa) techniques as well as acupuncture.
