Benches in Kingsbridge and Hope Cove are among those that have been replaced as part of South Hams District Council’s ongoing commitment to invest in our communities.

A total of 25 benches have been replaced in the two communities and in other out-of-town locations. The works form part of a wider programme of improvements, following the recent replacement of benches in Totnes, Salcombe and Ivybridge.

Cllr Victor Abbott, Executive Member for Lead Member for Community Services, Operations and Leisure, said: “The improvement project is a wide-reaching attempt to modernise some of our local assets; as well as replacing benches, we’ve been refurbishing toilets, replacing litter bins and carrying out works in our car parks.

"This work is all part of our commitment to support our communities across the district in every way we can.”
